Bonita La Quinta Country Club in La Quinta, CA generally yields good scoring if a player can attack the short par-5s well. Amateurs may not be able to reach the greens in two, but the pros in the tournament can make easy birdies and even eagles on the holes if they can avoid the trees that make La Quinta so tight. Consecutive par-3s at the fifth and sixth holes can get a player’s round going early. The course closes on the underrated 18th, a 396-yard par-4 with water to the left off the tee and on the second shot. In the summer of 1999, the course underwent extensive renovation,
adding length to some holes, rebuilding all 18 greens and reshaping some
fairways.
